Introduction

This is a chronicle of faith, with the starting point being the most difficult time in my life. It will be brutally honest, warts and all. It will be from the heart.

I have always been a militant follower of Jesus. That means following what he taught, not what came before or after. That means I pursue peace, justice, mercy, and compassion. That means I reject and condemn violence, mistreatment of other human beings for any reason, and work to lift the suffering of others. It means I do not give a damn about the “sins” of others. It means I reject religious authority apart from what Jesus taught. Faith means action, not thought or emotion. If it does not inspire you to make a positive difference in the lives of others, most especially those that suffer, then it is meaningless. Faith without works is dead.

Faith was always easy for me, but life was relatively simple. Now I face a host of challenges and a great uncertainty. These are my conversations with God. Like the Psalms, I will hide my anger, disappointment, frustration, and doubt.
